Welcome to Room 209!

Hello Fifth Graders and Welcome to Room 209!

I hope you all had a wonderful and fun filled summer break.  I was lucky enough to see some of you at the parks in town while working for the Recreation Department this summer.  For the upcoming school year, I am fortunate enough to take over Ms. Marcus' fifth grade classroom.  This will be my second year teaching in fifth grade at Pine Glen, and I can't wait for the school year to begin! I am fortunate to have worked with some of you last year in your reading classes, so I am sure to see some familiar faces on the first day of school.

Some important reminders for Parents:

First Day of School- September 2nd
New Start Time: 8:20 a.m
New End Time: 2:40 p.m

I have ordered all the pencils, folders, and notebooks that students will need for the upcoming school year.  There is no need for you to send these supplies in to school with your child.  If you have already purchased these, use them to set-up a homework area at home for your child.  Students will need a student dictionary to be used at home.

Class Donations:
Although we do not need school supplies for the classroom, I am accepting donations of a few items that we will need throughout the year.  These are items that will be used to keep our classroom clean and healthy.  Items that are appreciated are:
  • Tissues
  • Clorox Wipes
  • Purell hand sanitizer (or something similar)
  • Nut Free/Non-perishable snacks for the Snack Jar (For students who forgot snack)

Camp Bournedale: Wednesday September 17-Thursday September 18

Students are allowed to bring in a healthy snack to eat as a "working snack" during the morning academic time.  It is important that these snacks are low in sugar to prevent crashes throughout the day.  Keep in mind-water will be the only liquid allowed in the classroom.  All other drinks will kept in the hallway.
